The share of each pool's coins currently in profit — cost basis (price when the coins entered the pool) below today's price. Small multiples, one per pool. Green bars sit below the current price (in profit), red above (in loss); the dashed line is the price now. Transparent uses exact per-UTXO cost basis. The shielded pools use a deposit model: each day's pool inflow is recorded at that day's price and deshielding is removed proportionally (individual notes are private), so those figures are the % of DEPOSITS in profit, an on-chain estimate. Ironwood has no per-pool flow columns, so its deposits are reconstructed from the per-transaction migration attribution (each inflow priced at its migration day). Caveats: captures net pool flows, not transfers within a pool; deposits are value, not holders; addresses don't map to people.Read the full description
This chart is plotted against price: each panel is a pool's cost-basis distribution, not a time series.
🔗 permalink ⇆ compareFor each pool: the share of its coins whose cost basis — the price when they entered that pool — sits below today's price. Green below the dashed current-price line is in profit, red above is under water.
Only the transparent pool is exact. Every transparent output carries a visible creation height, so its basis is a fact. The shielded pools cannot work that way: individual notes are private, so each day's inflow is recorded at that day's price and deshielding is removed proportionally. What those bars report is the share of deposits in profit, an on-chain estimate of a population, not a tally of anyone's position.
It is not anyone's P&L. A coin that entered Orchard below today's price may have been bought far higher, or mined, or received as payment — a pool crossing is not a purchase. Read this as “what did the coins in this pool last cost to move here”, which is a claim about the chain, not about holders.
For the single chain-wide version of the same walk, see realized price; for the per-pool averages behind these bars, pool acquisition price.
