Zcash vs Bitcoin: the ZEC/BTC Ratio

The price of ZEC denominated in BTC over time. A declining ratio means ZEC is losing value relative to Bitcoin; a rising ratio means ZEC is outperforming BTC. This strips out broader crypto market movements to show ZEC-specific price dynamics.

How to read the ratio

This is the price of one ZEC in bitcoin. It rises when ZEC gains against BTC and falls when it loses.

It takes the market out. When every coin falls at once, a ZEC chart in dollars mostly tells you about crypto as a whole. The same weeks in bitcoin terms tell you whether anything happened to Zcash itself. A flat line through a crash means ZEC fell by the same amount as the market. That is an answer, not a missing one.

Two prices move, not one. The line goes up when ZEC rises, and it goes up just as much when bitcoin falls. So read a change here as a fact about the pair. Check the dollar price to see which side actually moved.

To measure how closely two numbers move together, use the correlation tool. It computes a real correlation; this page does not.
