User-initiated on-chain transactions per day across all pool types (transparent, Sprout, Sapling, Orchard, Ironwood, and mixed). Coinbase (miner-reward) transactions are excluded — one per block — so this reflects real usage rather than block production. The green and orange lines are 50-week and 200-week weighted moving averages (WMA) that smooth the daily noise to show the long-run trend.
Transactions / Day was 15,984 on 2026-09-27, the last full day of data. That is 214.7% higher than 28 days ago, when it was 5,079.
🔗 permalink ⇆ compareThis counts user-initiated transactions across every pool — transparent, Sprout, Sapling, Orchard, Ironwood and mixed. Coinbase transactions are excluded: every block has one by construction, so including them would add a constant floor that measures block production rather than usage.
A transaction is not a payment and an address is not a person. One transaction can carry many outputs, and wallets derive a fresh address per payment, so neither count maps cleanly to people or purchases. What the series shows reliably is the shape of demand for block space over time.
For the split between transparent, shielding, deshielding and fully shielded activity, transaction types breaks the same days down by kind.
