Zcash Shielded Actions per Day

Every shielded action per day, stacked by pool: Ironwood actions, Orchard actions, Sapling spends + outputs, and Sprout JoinSplits. Ironwood is the main shielded pool now; the stack shows how much of the shielded activity it carries. Coins migrating from Orchard into Ironwood count on both sides of that move, so a migration wave lifts the total.

Shielded Actions / Day was 8,694 on 2026-10-10, the last full day of data. That is 34.1% lower than 28 days ago, when it was 13,186.

Where is shielded activity happening?

Every shielded action on the chain each day, split by the pool it touched. One action is roughly one note spent or created, so this is the volume of private work the network does, not a count of transactions — for that see transaction types.

Ironwood is the main shielded pool now. It activated in July 2026, and new shielded activity lands there while Orchard's holders move across. A coin migrating from Orchard to Ironwood touches both pools, so it counts on both layers, and a migration wave lifts the whole stack without anyone transacting more.

The unit is not identical across pools: Sapling counts spends plus outputs, Orchard and Ironwood one action per spend-output pair, Sprout one JoinSplit — the asymmetry described on activity per ZEC. Compare a layer against its own history before comparing layers.
