Total ZEC in circulation over time, approaching the 21 million hard cap. Data comes directly from the Zebra node's chainSupply field, which is consensus-verified. The supply increases with each block's coinbase reward, following the halving schedule.
Total Supply was 16.96M ZEC on 2026-09-27, the last full day of data. That is 0.3% higher than 28 days ago, when it was 16.91M ZEC.
🔗 permalink ⇆ compareZcash has the same 21 million cap as Bitcoin and reaches it on a different path. The block reward halves every 1,680,000 blocks rather than 840,000, because Blossom halved the block spacing in 2019 and doubled the interval to keep emission on the same calendar.
This is read from the node, not computed from a formula. The figure is the consensus-verified chainSupply the network agreed on. A formula would have to model the slow start (the first 20,000 blocks ramped up from nothing), Blossom, and Network Upgrade 6 (NU6) — and getting any of them wrong is how supply estimates end up tens of percent out.
Since NU6 a share of each block reward accrues to an on-chain lockbox rather than being paid out, so issuance and what miners actually receive are no longer the same number.
